Motorcycle training teaches motorcycle riders the skills for riding on public roads. It is as similar to driver's education for car drivers. Motorcycle lessons beyond basic qualification and licensing is available to those whose duty includes motorcycle riding such as police and extra courses are offered for street riding refreshers, sport riding, off-road techniques and developing competitive skills for the motorcycle racetrack.

However, to get a motorbike learners permit one must typically pass a written permit test, traffic and rules of the road. The minimum age for obtaining a learner license is 15 years and 9 months. The applicant must complete a road safety program road ready which is taught in many motorcycle training schools or at a road ready centre and pass a computerized road rules test before obtaining a learner license. This license is valid for two years.
